Angeles Crest Highway Closed to repair storm damaged roadway

A Portion of the Angeles Crest Highway Closed to repair storm damaged roadway.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has closed the Angeles Crest Highway (SR-2) from the forest entrance near La Cañada Flintridge to Angeles Forest Highway (Clear Creek) to repair storm damaged roadway. The highway is expected to open in late Spring 2011. The seasonal closure at Islip Saddle remains closed. For further information, please contact Caltrans District 7 (Los Angeles and Ventura counties) at 213-897-3656 or visit www.dot.ca.gov/dist07. The Switzer Falls picnic area will remain closed for the next 30 days to complete re-construction work in that area.

Good morning from Mt Waterman,

We are updating the web site today Tuesday 12-28-2010. At this time the mountain is set up with a frozen ground and about 1-2 feet out on the hill. We need around 12 – 18 inches of snow to be able to open up for the weekend.

At this time there is a winter storm warning now posted for Mt Waterman Ski Area and NWS if saying we could get the 12- 18 inches we need. Keep checking in here at the web site and become a fan at our face book page for the most current updates from Mt Waterman.
